 Общее число битов в информации в канале пользователя, поддерживаеиле одной ячейкой (или точечным лучом), которая является частью бесконечного набора идентичных ячеек (или большого числа точечных спутниковых лучей) в единообразном двумерном (или трехмерном) участке пространства. Информационная емкость, обычно, измеряемая в Мбит/c/ячейка или Мбит/c/спутниковый луч, должна быть определена для данного распределения спектра, качества передачи и качества обслуживания в предположении о соответствующей модели распространения. Этот показатель полезен для сравнения систем с идентичными требованиями к каналу пользователя. (МСЭ-R M.1224).
